Recap: Skyline Falcons vs. Frederick Golden Eagles
The Skyline Falcons can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They managed a 71-65 victory over Frederick. The victory was just what Skyline needed coming off of a 77-47 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Talan Starcevich, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Erives, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Loss or not, Frederick got some senior leadership from Ian Buffington and JJ Strojinc. Buffington scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Strojinc. scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Strojinc pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jovan Aldana was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Skyline's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Frederick, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Skyline will head out on the road to challenge Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Mountain View is ranked 214th, while Skyline is ranked 211th). As for Frederick, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Severance at 5:00 p.m.
