Volleyball Game Preview: West Springfield Terriers vs. Central Golden Eagles

West Springfield is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Central is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Terriers will host the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, West Springfield got the win against Minnechaug Regional by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Terriers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won eight in a row.

West Springfield not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Minnechaug Regional between 14 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Central beat Frontier Regional 3-1 on Friday.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17.

Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for West Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Everything went West Springfield's way against Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as West Springfield made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Terriers repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
