            Volleyball Recap: Madera Coyotes vs. Hoover Patriots        
        
		
        
        
            Madera was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They came up short against  the Hoover Patriots, falling  3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-1  last Tuesday.
 Madera took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-15,  25-17.
 Mia Carlson paced Madera's offense, picking up eight kills. Carlson got some help from  Bella Haynes and her seven assists.  Yuliana Naranjo controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
 Hoover's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Alejandra Espino led the charge by  getting seven assists and four  aces. That's the most  aces  Espino has posted since back in September.
Madera's defeat dropped their record down to 6-26. As for Hoover, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record  this season.
 Madera didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-2  victory against Sanger West on the 21st. As for Hoover, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  match,  a  3-0  win against Edison on the 21st.
