Recap: Mounds Golden Eagles vs. Chelsea Dragons
The Mounds Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 70-23 defeat at the hands of Chelsea. While losing is never fun, Mounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while Chelsea is ranked 163rd).
Alexa Wilson was Mounds' leading scorer, having posted 11 points.
Kaydee Nunn held things down on the boards with four rebounds.
Mounds bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.0 points per game. As for Chelsea, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Mounds will head out on the road to face off against Nowata on Friday. As for Chelsea, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Kansas on January 5th.
