Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Vista Ridge's Winning Streak

Vista Ridge dropped down to 9-4 on Monday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Liberty Lancers by a score of 7-5. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Jocelynn Kalkman was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaylani Jusino, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.

As for Liberty, the victory got them back to even at 8-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 18th.

On Liberty's side, Grace Joiner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Joiner has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Terika Rubiero, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Vista Ridge will square off against rival Doherty at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Liberty is set to face off against their familiar foe Fountain-Fort Carson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
