Softball Game Preview: Williamsport Millionaires vs. West Scranton Invaders

The Williamsport Millionaires will face off against the West Scranton Invaders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Williamsport comes in on six and West Scranton on four.

On Saturday, Williamsport made easy work of Selinsgrove and carried off a 12-2 victory. The Millionaires might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, West Scranton got the win against Wyoming Valley West on Monday by a conclusive 14-4.

Kaleiah Connor was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Connor was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, West Scranton let Brianna Connor and Mia Keenan run wild. Connor went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Keenan went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Keenan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Tallo, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

West Scranton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.

Williamsport pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for West Scranton, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
