Woodlawn was the 5-3 winner over Brownstown/St. Elmo when they last played one another back in May of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Woodlawn Cardinals fell just short of the Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. Woodlawn has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Talon Lee was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Frick, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Woodlawn's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-12-1.
Woodlawn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brownstown/St. Elmo, they will head out on the road to challenge North Clay/Clay City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Clay/Clay City is coming into the game with five straight victories at home, so Brownstown/St. Elmo will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
