Soccer Game Preview: Parkland vs. Hanks

The Parkland Matadors will face off against the Hanks Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkland's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Horizon who was credited with the win on Tuesday. The Scorpions got it done in the shootout by posting nine goals to Parkland's eight.

Hanks took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Horizon a 3-0 shutout. Hanks better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Sebastian Morales Manzur, as he scored every single goal for his team.

Hanks moved to 8-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Parkland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13-2.
