Softball Recap: Franklin County Takes a Loss

Franklin County and Lawrenceburg squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Franklin County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 9-4.

Franklin County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Thompson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Thompson has hit this season. Another was Emily Fellure, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 11-11-1. As for Lawrenceburg, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-14.

Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lawrenceburg, they will square off against Greensburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
