River Dell had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Mahwah on Monday. The Golden Hawks put the hurt on the Thunderbirds with a sharp 13-7 win. Considering the Golden Hawks have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

River Dell has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Mahwah, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-13.

River Dell has already played their next matchup (against Dwight Morrow), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mahwah will be paying especially close attention to the Golden Hawks' contest: after the Golden Hawks face off against the Maroon Raiders, they'll take on Mahwah again at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
