Soccer Game Preview: Greenwood vs. Big Spring

The Greenwood Rangers will challenge the Big Spring Steers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Greenwood turned things around against Andrews on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Mustangs 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Greenwood were the better team in the second half.

Sage Beene and Andres Onzures scored both of Greenwood's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Big Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Snyder who was credited with the victory. The Tigers got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Big Spring's four.

Big Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Greenwood, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
