Softball Game Preview: Sparks Railroaders vs. Wooster Colts

For the second straight game, Sparks will face off against Wooster. The Railroaders will head out to face off against the Colts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Sparks is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Wooster with a sharp 19-4 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Railroaders in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won seven in a row.

Bailey Hunden was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing nine bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.9 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Liliana Pimentel Espana was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Rosa Quiroz Murillo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Sparks always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .781. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in three consecutive contests.
