Softball Recap: Piedmont Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Georgia Military College

Piedmont Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Georgia Military College Bulldogs. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked the Cougars' highest-scoring contest to date.

Sarah Ellen Stroud made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those runs were her first of the season. Kolbee Osborne was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Piedmont Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Georgia Military College, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Coming up, Piedmont Academy will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bethlehem Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Georgia Military College, they will venture away from home to square off against Georgia School for Innovation & Classics at 5:03 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
