Volleyball Recap: Coastal Academy Takes a Loss

Coastal Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Oceanside Pirates. If the Stingrays were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-13, 25-11.

Miranda Rustrum paced Coastal Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Rustrum got some help from Delaynie Harris and her eight assists.

Coastal Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Oceanside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coastal Academy will face off against Tri-City Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oceanside, they will challenge Horizon Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
