Volleyball Recap: Upper Merion Area Vikings vs. Garnet Valley Jaguars        
        
		
             If Upper Merion Area was riding high  fresh off their  3-0 takedown of Upper Perkiomen last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Upper Merion Area Vikings fell  3-1 to the Garnet Valley Jaguars on Saturday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2023.
 Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-19, 21-25,  25-9.
 Upper Merion Area's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Valeria Paneto, who  had 12  digs. Another player making a difference was  Amala Vilivalam, who  had six  digs and three  aces.
 Upper Merion Area's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Garnet Valley, the  victory was  the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Upper Merion Area's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Pottstown at 6:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Pottstown is coming into the  game with three straight  losses on the road,  meaning Upper Merion Area will have to defend against a  team hungry for a  win. As for Garnet Valley, they will look to defend their home court  on Monday against Conestoga  at 3:45  p.m.
