            Softball Preview: Port Washington Pirates vs. Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes        
        
		
        
        
            The Port Washington Pirates will take on the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes at 4:45  p.m.  on Thursday. Whitefish Bay took a loss in their last  game and will be looking to turn the tables on Port Washington, who comes in off a win.
Port Washington took a six-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Slinger, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  12-11  win over the Owls  on Tuesday.
  Hope Gilhooly was  incredible,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and four  RBI while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Abbey Grisar, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Whitefish Bay kicked off their season on the road  on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost  10-0 to Hartford. The Blue Dukes haven't had much luck with the Orioles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
 Port Washington skirted past Whitefish Bay  5-3 when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
