Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Bend Kempner). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos a 31-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Evan Alderete was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five runs and four RBI. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nathan Kirsch, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fort Bend Kempner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .681. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fort Bend Kempner's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-11-1. As for Fort Bend Marshall, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
