Basketball Game Preview: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. Dover Crimson Tornadoes

Zanesville hasn't had much luck against Dover recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Zanesville Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Dover Crimson Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m.

Zanesville is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Granville. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Blue Aces are ranked 192nd).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Dover's strategy against Perry on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Dover blew Perry out of the water with a 59-32 final score. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Crimson Tornadoes have posted since January 7th.

Zanesville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Dover, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Zanesville came up short against Dover in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 48-36. Can Zanesville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
