Softball Preview: St. Bernard Saints vs. Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils
The St. Bernard Saints will square off against the Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Bernard is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
On Saturday, St. Bernard came up short against Killingly and fell 6-2.

Anabelle Wenzel was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Wenzel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aurianna Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Coginchaug Regional got the win against Portland on Wednesday by a conclusive 20-3. Considering the Blue Devils have won six games by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
St. Bernard's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Coginchaug Regional, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
