Oakmont is a perfect 3-0 against Marysville since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings will challenge the Indians at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Oakmont is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Lincoln just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Fighting Zebras.

Meanwhile, Marysville didn't have quite enough to beat Center on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Marysville wouldn't go down easily and took Center into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 24-26, 16-25, 15-13.

Marysville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Oakmont, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Everything went Oakmont's way against Marysville when the teams last played back in September, as Oakmont made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
