Football Game Preview: Amsterdam Rams vs. Bethlehem Central Eagles

The Amsterdam Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Bethlehem Central Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bethlehem Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Amsterdam, who comes in off a win.

While Amsterdam's win against La Salle Institute wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cadets 30-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted against the Cadets since October 18, 2019.

Luis Tirado produced another solid effort rushing for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 274 yards and two TDs while completing 84% of his passes. A healthy portion of Tirado's aerial production (98 yards to be exact) went to Rocco Natale Jr, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 49-7 loss at the hands of Niskayuna. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Silver Warriors are ranked 24th).

Bethlehem Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Amsterdam, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Amsterdam suffered a grim 34-13 defeat to Bethlehem Central when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
