Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Vernon Marauders vs. Pendleton Heights Arabians

For the second straight game, Mt. Vernon will face off against Pendleton Heights. The Marauders will head out on the road to face off against the Arabians at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Mt. Vernon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mt. Vernon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Pendleton Heights, who was ranked 14th at the time (Mt. Vernon was ranked 24th). The Marauders had just enough and edged out the Arabians 7-5.

Andrew Boldt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Meyer, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Nolan Stults also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Pendleton Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 10-1. As for Mt. Vernon, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
