Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Stallions vs. Mitchell Marauders

The Sierra Stallions will venture away from home to square off against the Mitchell Marauders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-16, which was the final score in Sierra's tilt against Widefield on Saturday. The Stallions have struggled against the Gladiators recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Shetara Roebuck was Sierra's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Ziyon Nicholson held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against The Classical Academy, falling 59-18. While losing is never fun, the Marauders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Titans are ranked 137th).

Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Mitchell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.

Everything came up roses for Sierra against Mitchell in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 46-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sierra since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
