Piqua came into Thursday's matchup having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Springfield Wildcats 4-2. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats on Thursday, too.

The team relied heavily on Andon Laughman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Piqua's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Springfield, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16-1.

Coming up, Piqua will be playing in front of their home fans against Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Springfield, they will venture away from home to take on Fairborn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
