Basketball Game Preview: Haughton Buccaneers vs. Stanley Panthers

Haughton is 0-3 against Stanley since November of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Haughton Buccaneers are taking a road trip to challenge the Stanley Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Stanley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Haughton, who comes in off a win.

Haughton will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Benton, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Haughton narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Benton 47-45. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Stanley suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Hornbeck, falling 60-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Hornets since February 13, 2018.

Stanley's loss dropped their record down to 18-14-1. As for Haughton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season.

Haughton lost to Stanley on the road by a decisive 57-43 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Haughton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
