Recap: Sandhills Valley Mavericks vs. Medicine Valley Raiders
This season hasn't been kind to the Sandhills Valley Mavericks, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were dealt a 53-8 defeat at the hands of Medicine Valley on Tuesday. Sandhills Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-4.
Stella Heapy was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 steals for Medicine Valley. The contest was Heapy's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Sienna Houghtelling was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six blocks and five rebounds.
Sandhills Valley bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Medicine Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Sandhills Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Cody-Kilgore on Friday. As for Medicine Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Dundy County-Stratton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Dundy County-Stratton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
