Basketball Recap: Jackson Heights Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Jackson Heights and Doniphan West squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Jackson Heights had to settle for second. They came up short against the Doniphan West Mustangs, falling 52-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cobras have suffered since January 3rd.

Jackson Heights' loss came despite strong showings from Chesnea Cochren and Nicole Amon. Cochren posted 12 points, while Amon scored six points and seven rebounds. Cochren is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 42% in the last four games she's played.

Jackson Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Doniphan West, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.

Jackson Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Doniphan West, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 39-35 victory against Wabaunsee on the 7th.
