Preview: Celeste Blue Devils vs. Miller Grove Hornets
Celeste is on a five-game streak of home losses, Miller Grove a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Having just played yesterday, the Celeste Blue Devils will get right back to it and host the Miller Grove Hornets at 8:30 a.m. on December 28th. Miller Grove took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Celeste, who comes in off a win.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Celeste ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against Sulphur Bluff by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Miller Grove's 24-11 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 70-37 defeat at the hands of McLeod on Wednesday. Miller Grove has not had much luck with McLeod recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Celeste's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Miller Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Celeste strolled past Miller Grove in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 59-41. Does Celeste have another victory up their sleeve, or will Miller Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
