Volleyball Recap: Tough Loss for Eastern Mennonite

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eastern Mennonite can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the North Cross Raiders on Wednesday.

Marlowe Nichols paced Eastern Mennonite's offense, picking up nine kills. Nichols got some help from Layla Von Arnswaldt and her 17 assists. Emilee Shank controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

North Cross' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cora Painter, who had 12 assists, eight digs, and three aces. Another player making a difference was Shree Patel, who had 19 assists, six digs, and two aces.

Eastern Mennonite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Cross, they will square off against New Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
