Baseball Recap: Yoarlin Rodriguez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Jefferson

Hillcrest's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Jefferson Patriots get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.

Hillcrest got a massive performance out of Yoarlin Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Rodriguez a new career-high. Jean Pierre Paternina was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 18-9-1. As for Jefferson, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Hillcrest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
