Volleyball Recap: Washington County Commanders vs. Taylor County Cardinals
Washington County lost against Taylor County back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Commanders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Commanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 25-12, 25-23.
Hailey Rose Mcilvoy paced Washington County's offense, picking up 13 kills. Mcilvoy got some help from Kate Smith and her 28 assists. Smith also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Rylee Hunt, racking up two apiece.
Washington County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Taylor County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington County will challenge Marion County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Taylor County, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Adair County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
