Softball Game Preview: Northeastern Bobcats vs. Solanco Golden Mules

The Northeastern Bobcats will square off against the Solanco Golden Mules at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Northeastern nor Solanco posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Northeastern is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Shippensburg, falling 15-2. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost eight in a row.

Northeastern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cami Dennis, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Solanco sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Oxford on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Mules.

Kira Roark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sara DeFrancesco, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
