Softball Recap: Apache Junction Comes Up Short

Apache Junction was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Benson Bobcats, falling 26-5. If the Prospectors were looking for revenge after losing 13-1 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in March of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Apache Junction's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Benson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apache Junction will venture away from home to challenge Payson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Payson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.36 runs per game on average), something Apache Junction will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Benson, they will head out to face off against Santa Rita at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Benson is facing Santa Rita at the right time seeing as Santa Rita is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
