Volleyball Recap: Western Wayne's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

If Western Wayne was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Scranton last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack on Saturday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Vincent Silon paced Western Wayne's offense, picking up eight kills. Silon got some help from Theo Black and his 16 assists.

Jordany Rodriguez had another great game (as he tends to do), getting 15 digs and nine kills for Wilkes-Barre. Rodriguez has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last seven times he's played. Tijan Njai was another key player, getting 17 assists and six digs.

Western Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Wilkes-Barre, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-7-2.

Western Wayne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Lackawanna Trail on the 12th. As for Wilkes-Barre, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Hazleton Area on the 12th.
