Basketball Recap: Dominion Christian Eagles vs. Christ Chapel Academy
This season hasn't been kind to the Dominion Christian Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 66-41 walloping at the hands of Christ Chapel Academy on Monday. Dominion Christian has not had much luck with the recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christ Chapel Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaria Gaskins, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Gaskins has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Maya Brantley was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine steals.
Dominion Christian dropped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Christ Chapel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Dominion Christian will head out on the road to take on the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Christ Chapel Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m.
