Basketball Game Preview: Washington County Panthers vs. Perquimans Pirates

Washington County found their leader in sophomore Ke'Myia Young, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. Young's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Aaliyah Carter was another key player, putting up 14 points and six steals.

Washington County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Perquimans was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past North East Carolina Prep 67-11. Fans of the Pirates have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Washington County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Perquimans, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
