Softball Preview: Cox Falcons vs. Churchland Truckers

The Cox Falcons will challenge the Churchland Truckers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cox's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Churchland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Cox came up short against Ocean Lakes and fell 7-4. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Dolphins recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Cox saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Hauser, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Olivia Peterson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Catie Doyle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Doyle was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Churchland got a massive performance out of Jestice Hill, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Pharoah Doxie, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Churchland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manor struck out ten times.

Churchland's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Cox, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
