Softball Recap: American Fork Takes a Loss

American Fork was the 2-0 winner over Lone Peak when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Cavemen fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Cavemen just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Sarah Jensen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nataanii Fielding, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

American Fork's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Lone Peak, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-14 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Fork will challenge Hunter at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Lone Peak, they will square off against Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
