Basketball Game Preview: Lafayette Hornets vs. Fort White Indians

The Lafayette Hornets will head out to square off against the Fort White Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Lafayette sitting on three straight victories and Fort White on four.

Last Tuesday, Lafayette narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cedar Key 59-57.

Meanwhile, Fort White didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Branford on Friday, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory.

Fort White's win came from a few key players Lafayette will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tafari Moe, who went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Jackspn, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Fort White pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Lafayette, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Lafayette took a serious blow against Fort White when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 61-33. Can Lafayette avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
