Volleyball Recap: Toledo Christian Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Toledo Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mansfield Christian Flames on Saturday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

The final score came out to 25-4, 25-17, 16-25, 25-20.

Lexi Patridge paced Toledo Christian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Patridge got some help from Bella Perrotte and her 31 assists.

McKenzie Webb went supernova For Mansfield Christian., getting 17 digs and nine aces. Those nine aces gave Webb a new career-high.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Toledo Christian is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Oak Harbor at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mansfield Christian, they will head out to take on Black River at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
