Basketball Recap: Ascend Leadership Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ascend Leadership Academy extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were beaten by the Holly Springs Golden Hawks 78-18. The game marked the Aviators' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Samuel Walker was Ascend Leadership Academy's leading scorer, having posted five points. Landon Tarazon held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

As for Holly Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Holly Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Olgine, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Vinn Robinson, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Ascend Leadership Academy will take on Clover Garden School in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Aviators will be up against the Grizzlies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Holly Springs and Wake Forest will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
