Football Recap: Bodhi Sanford and Zachari Haley Secure Win for Sabino

There's no place like home for Sabino, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Safford Bulldogs on Friday by a score of 40-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Sabercats have won three games by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sabino was led to victory by Zachari Haley and Bodhi Sanford. Haley gained 283 total yards, while Sanford threw for 283 yards and five TDs on only 17 passes. Haley got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 70 yards.

Sabino's run defense was locked in: Safford could only muster 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Gabe Warren for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sabino didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.9.

Sabino didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Je'Miah Martinez, Javian Winton, and Anthony Dimas picked up one apiece.

The victory snapped Sabino's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Safford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Sabino wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 47-18 loss against Valley Christian on the 7th. Safford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
