Basketball Preview: Morse Tigers vs. Christian Patriots
Morse is 0-5 against the Patriots since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Morse Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Christian Patriots at 6:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Morse's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 74-62 to Mira Mesa. While losing is never fun, Morse can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 898th, while the Marauders are ranked 402nd).
Despite their loss, Morse saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Barron Bilog, who scored 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jayren Sunico, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Christian beat the Patriots 60-52 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Christian.
Morse's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
