A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Theodore is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Theodore didn't have quite enough to beat Elberta and fell 9-8.
Draden Jones was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Aidan Germany was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Chase Caine, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Citronelle suffered their biggest defeat since March 22, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Foley, falling 12-1. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Wildcats' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.
Citronelle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Reid, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Reid has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Citronelle dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Theodore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Theodore has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Citronelle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Theodore beat Citronelle 13-9 when the teams last played back in February of 2022. Does Theodore have another victory up their sleeve, or will Citronelle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
