The Harding Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Girard Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harding is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Harding came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Washington, falling 9-3.

Harding saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Airiz Coleman Bey, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Girard beat Salem 11-6 on Monday.

Will Hynes was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Girard's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Ward, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Girard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Girard has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Harding, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Harding skirted past Girard 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
