Softball Recap: Western Hills Gets the Win

Western Hills's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with an 18-14 win over the Life Oak Cliff Lions. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Addison Dudley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Dudley was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Isabella Gonzales was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sophia Castellanos, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Western Hills' record now sits at 2-4. As for Life Oak Cliff, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Western Hills didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 17-4 loss against Mansfield Summit on the 28th. As for Life Oak Cliff, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Wyatt on the 27th.
