Baseball Recap: Sandpoint Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Sandpoint hadn't done well against Moscow recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bears 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Soren Caprio was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Shaw, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Sandpoint pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Moscow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

Sandpoint will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
