Baseball Recap: Inglewood Comes Up Short

Santa Monica hit Inglewood with a 17-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sentinels came up short against the Vikings, falling 19-1. The Sentinels' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Inglewood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

Inglewood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Santa Monica, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

While Inglewood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
