Preview: Napavine Tigers vs. Toledo Indians

The Napavine Tigers will be playing at home against the Toledo Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Even though Napavine has not done well against Toutle Lake recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Napavine strolled past Toutle Lake with points to spare, taking the game 74-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

James Grose was a one-man wrecking crew for Napavine as he went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points and 6 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarin Prather, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Toledo came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They had just enough and edged Kalama out 52-50. Given Toledo's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Kalama is ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Napavine's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Toledo, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Napavine strolled past Toledo in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 71-55. Does Napavine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Toledo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
