Franklin won the last time they faced Edison, and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Franklin Yellowjackets beat the Edison Vikings by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.
Franklin walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 17-25, 25-17, 25-18.
Franklin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karen Castro, who had 23 digs and two aces. Castro is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Walker, who had 11 blocks, five kills, and four digs.
She was just one part of a dominant defense: Franklin kept the net locked down and finished the game with 31 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since the start of last season.
Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-18 record this season. As for Edison, they dropped their record down to 15-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
